Touch Screen Interface

The computer revolution may have left many seniors behind. At Dakim, we've narrowed the technology gap by incorporating a touch screen interface as an integral part of [m]Power. No mouse, no keyboard, no problem! All it takes to participate is the ability to touch the screen. No previous computer experience is needed to play on the [m]Power, and those with Parkinson’s disease, arthritis or even garden variety computer phobia can begin using the [m]Power like a pro on their very first try!

The [m]Power uses a special, highly-sensitive resistive touch screen, allowing anyone to use a finger touch, a gloved hand, a fingernail, a stylus or other object for a quick, accurate response. Resistive touch screens are very reliable, impervious to spills, easily cleaned and are used extensively for point-of-sale, industrial and medical applications. Dakim recommends cleaning the [m]Power between user sessions to prevent the transmission of germs.

Since the touch screen actually has a thin layer of plastic applied to its surface, this layer will be degraded by cleaning products which contain solvents such as alcohol. We strongly recommend using alcohol-free wipes for cleaning the [m]Power touch screen and surfaces between user sessions. 

NuroLogic™ Technology - The Key To Success!

For maximum benefits, cognitive exercises not only have to be fun and engaging, they also have to present challenges at the proper level of challenge for the individual user. We developed our proprietary NuroLogic™ Technology to automatically adjust the difficulty level of the exercises in real time, which means the [m]Power experience is never frustrating and never boring! As questions are answered, multiple measurements are taken, including the number of attempts and time taken, and NuroLogic™ Technology takes over. Then, [m]Power automatically adjusts the difficulty of the next question and the next, thereby ensuring the optimum experience for each user. [m]Power stores this information as part of the user's profile, so the next time they sit down, the challenge level will pick up right where they left off!

Although you may feel like you’re playing a game, each [m]Power session is scientifically designed to give a rigorous workout to all of your cognitive processes—from memory and computation, to critical thinking and daily life skills. We want your brain to work hard, even when you're having fun. [m]Power has been designed so you probably won’t get all the answers right. you’ll usually get about 8 out of 10 answers correct, so don’t worry if you miss a few. [m]Power’s on-screen host always gives positive and encouraging feedback, whether the answer is right or wrong!

[m]Power Headphones

Your [m]Power unit comes equipped with one set of headphones for use in high traffic areas or to maintain a reduced noise level when the built-in speakers are too loud. The headphones, which are for general use and offer good stereo sound quality and durability, will automatically disable the speakers when they are plugged into the [m]Power. The speakers will become activated again once the headphones are unplugged. These headphones are suitable for use with or without a hearing aid. In addition, Dakim offers personal headphones for individuals who may not feel comfortable sharing a set with others.

We also recognize that many seniors may require a custom audio solution for their personal needs, and with so many options available for hearing-impaired users, we found it necessary to offers several varieties of headphones. We have assembled a selection which should accommodate most if not all people who wear hearing aids, including headphones with inductive output for hearing aids equipped with a t-coil setting, and a combination headphone with audio/inductive output.

EasyTouch Log-On Sequence

One of the features that makes the [m]Power so powerful and easy to use is the EasyTouch log-on sequence. It not only allows a resident to begin a session on their own, it frees caregivers to direct their attention to other residents and functions at the facility. When a resident sits down in front of the [m]Power and begins a session for the first time, they use the on-screen keyboard to enter the first and last initials of their name to access a unique program created just for them at the appropriate level of challenge. If the administrator has included a picture of the resident in [m]PowerADMIN, once they type in their initials and press the Next button, the next screen will show their full name and their picture.

Subscription Services

Because your residents are ever-changing– so is [m]Power. Our subscription program provides a range of important and beneficial services that are an integral part of the [m]Power system, ensuring that units are running at peak performance and are always up-to-date.  These services include:

• Remote diagnosis and repair and overnight replacement program
• Automatic update of [m]Power application
• Automatic alerts of changes in user performance
• Automatic downloads of new exercises, so users are always presented with fresh material
• Adds and deletes registered users to match care provider rosters
• Records names of new users
• Maintains records of current users
• Distributes user data to all units at a facility

Dakim has recognized that trying to coerce seniors to do something they are told is “good for them,” will be a futile endeavor. Casting aside the traditional model of presenting a monotonous series of repetitive mental stimulation exercises, the [m]Power engages the user with a vast, and ever changing array, of mentally stimulating and highly entertaining exercises–numbering in the thousands–that transform rigorous cognitive exercise into a fun, leisure activity that seniors will actually want to do.

We start by adapting standardized, scientifically-based cognitive exercises– crossing six cognitive domains in every session, to make them more appealing, more engaging, more entertaining and more pleasurable to seniors. Warranty

The [m]Power is under a full bumper-to-bumper warranty for a period of 3 years. This warranty covers defects in materials, hardware systems and software. In the event your [m]Power is not functioning as it should and we are unable to repair it remotely, simply send it back to us and we will send you a new unit overnight. This warranty is voided if the [m]Power is rendered inoperable resulting from misuse, impact or tampering.
